Direction and Position: Installation must strictly follow the flow direction indicators marked on the valve. Directional valves such as globe valves and check valves must be installed correctly; incorrect orientation may impair functionality or even pose hazards. The installation location should facilitate operation and maintenance, with the handwheel height recommended at approximately 1.2 meters above the operating floor.
Installation Details:
Verify valve model and specifications before installation. Inspect stem flexibility and clear debris from the valve interior. When lifting, secure ropes to flanges to prevent damage to handwheels or stems. Tighten flange bolts evenly, ensuring parallel alignment and proper clearance.
Special Requirements:
Safety valves must be installed vertically, with discharge pipes routed to safe zones away from ignition sources and high-temperature equipment. Certain valves, such as pressure-reducing valves, also require vertical installation.

Maintenance:

Routine Maintenance: Store valves in a dry, well-ventilated area. For long-term storage, conduct periodic inspections and apply rust-preventative oil. After installation, regularly inspect seal face wear, valve stem thread wear, and packing condition. Replace failed components promptly.
Grease Injection: Calculate grease volume precisely based on valve type to avoid underfilling or overfilling. Grease injection pressure must be consistent; insufficient pressure may cause seal failure, while excessive pressure may block the grease port. Valve position during injection matters—gate valves, for instance, must be closed.
Inspection and Testing:
Seal performance tests are required after maintenance. Strength and tightness tests are mandatory after valve body welding repairs or replacements. Check check valves regularly for seal integrity and spring condition, cleaning both internal and external surfaces.
